El viaje de Copperpot (Copperpot's Journey) is La Oreja de Van Gogh's second album. It is the group's best-selling and most popular album, and is also acclaimed by many as the best in their discography. On this work, La Oreja de Van Gogh somewhat abandoned the Donosti Sound to focus on Power Pop. Catchy melodies and carefree lyrics were the fundamental elements of the album.

This is a very subjective album, as evidenced by the number of personal and generational references that run through it. Starting with a beautiful cover, a departure from their first recording, through the title, a reference to a character from the quintessential 1980s teen classic, “The Goonies” (Richard Donner, 1985). Throughout the album, there are appearances by La Bruja Avería from La Bola de Cristal, Monty Python, La Buena Vida, the city of Paris, and Julio Medem's film “Lovers of the Arctic Circle” (Julio Medem, 1998).
