Wasting Lights is the seventh album by Foo Fighters. Since Dave Grohl wanted to record an album that captured the essence of the band's early work and dispensed with the artificiality of digital recordings, the band recorded it in Grohl's garage with exclusively analog equipment, with the sessions supervised by the producer of Nirvana's Nevermind. On this album, Foo Fighters opted for a heavier and rawer sound, in contrast to the musical experiments of their previous albums.
