The Barcelona-based composer and singer Aida Giménez is behind Guineu, her particular indie pop musical project in Catalan with a riot grrrl attitude, which mixes delicate melodies and a trashy tendency to shape what we can now label as #CuquiTrash, drawing from 80s punk, 90s new wave, and 2000s pop touches. In just over 2 years, Guineu has recorded her debut album 'Forats negres', has sung with Rufus T. Firefly after winning the Movistar+ Rookies contest, has collaborations such as those with Joan Colomo, signed the song of the year with "Putu Any" (also a finalist for the Premi Cerverí 2021 for best song lyrics and confirmed artist for Primavera Sound 2022), thus establishing herself as one of the most interesting and distinctive proposals on the current Catalan music scene.
