This live concert, recorded just five days before the US release of their debut album Are You Experienced, stands out as one of the last times the band performed for an audience while still relatively unknown. Having conquered the UK and mainland Europe over the previous ten months, the vast majority of the 17,000+ attendees at the Los Angeles concert were there to see headliners The Mamas & The Papas and were taken by surprise by Jimi Hendrix's electrifying musicality and showmanship.

The rest of the world can enjoy this live recording for the first time, of which, surprisingly, not a single second has ever been released, either through official channels or by any other means.
