Speak & Spell is the debut album by English electronic music group Depeche Mode, where the first chapter of a long and fruitful musical history that continues to this day began to be written.

Speak & Spell was recorded and produced by Miller at Blackwing Studios in London, and released on October 5, 1981, in the United Kingdom and the United States. It includes 11 tracks mostly written by Vince Clarke, with the exception of “Tora! Tora! Tora!” and “Big Muff,” which are credited to Martin L. Gore.
