According to guitarist Moritz Hammrich, the climate crisis, the refugee crisis, and the events in the Ahr valley in 2021 are factors that shape the band's lyrics as much as their personal crises: "RIOT is a peaceful uprising, without violence, full of pure songs - always critical of society, both political and apolitical. We don't write anything on our foreheads, but Mario perfectly finds the balance between social criticism and his own emotional world and paints his own landscapes from it."
