Moving Day captures André 3000 at a very important moment. Before recording New Blue Sun, filmmaker Dexter Navy filmed André in Venice Beach, California. The day coincides with André's move from his home to a new place. The score for Moving Day is a tapestry of field recordings from the filming date, an improvised Q&A session from Navy to André, and a post-studio recording played forward and then backward while watching the film. The bonus track "Tunnels of Egypt" is an unreleased recording from the New Blue Sun sessions.
