Prolific, virtuoso and carefree are the three adjectives that best define LA LUDWIG BAND, the emerging band that is revolutionizing the Catalan scene thanks to its sharp lyrics and its satirical and fun spirit. After 4 albums in just 4 years, with which they have won awards such as the Enderrock for the best album of 2021 for La mateixa sort or the Cerverí for the best lyrics in Catalan of 2021 for the now legendary S'ha mort l'home més vell d'Espolla, arrive with Gràcies per vino, their most ambitious, chantable, powerful and representative album.
As Jaume Sisa says: “I like these guys because they go on stage without ironing, like we did” and in the era of autotunes, beats and samplers, The Ludwig Band appears as a group like those from before, where music What you hear is what you see, a bit like Bruce Springsteen or the admired Pau Riba would do.
In forty minutes, the sextet from Espolla (Alt Empordà) made up of Gabriel Bosch, Quim Carandell, Roger Cassola, Pau Esteve, Andreu Galofré and Lluc Valverde, manages to go solidly through pop, folk and rock and take them to unexplored terrain with delicate harmonizations and nuances cultivated over low heat. And precisely because of the solidity of the proposal they have reached the ears of Manel, who with his label Ceràmiques Guzmán co-released the first album of another group with The Indian Runners, sponsoring this very promising project. And if The Ludwig Band can be classified for anything, it is because they are ungovernable and unpredictable, with an unconstrained future.
