Sony Music Masterworks Releases: GHOSTBUSTERS: FROZEN EMPIRE (ORIGINAL MOTION PICTURE SOUNDTRACK) by Oscar-winning composer DARIO MARIANELLI.

The album features original music written by Marianelli for the latest installment in the Ghostbusters film franchise. For his second collaboration with director Gil Kenan on Ghostbusters: Frozen Empire, Marianelli first drew inspiration from the iconic soundscape created by Elmer Bernstein for director Ivan Reitman’s 1984 original blockbuster. The result is a nostalgia-inducing score that captures the spirit of Bernstein’s beloved soundtrack while still managing to establish a distinct sound for the new film. Sony Pictures Entertainment's film Ghostbusters: Frozen Empire is now exclusively in theaters.

About the album, composer DARIO MARIANELLI states: “Listening to Elmer Bernstein’s original soundtrack 40 years later, one is struck by the sheer unpredictability of the music. What unexpected music, jumping without notice from terrifying to comedic, from the merest flicker of a synthesizer to magnificent, florid orchestrations, from the completely serious to the utterly absurd. It was a true honor for me to join Gil Kenan and the Ghostbusters family and be allowed to pay homage to—and expand upon—that crazy premise.”
