With a simple guitar in hand, MARCIN has captivated audiences worldwide, taking his signature playing style and brilliant solo arrangements to new heights on his highly anticipated debut full-length album, Dragon in Harmony. The album features original compositions and a wide repertoire of covers with arrangements by the guitar prodigy and co-production alongside Dan Book. Accompanied by chart-topping rockers Portugal. The Man and indie singer-songwriter Delaney Bailey, as well as Tim Henson and Ichika Nito as featured guitarists, Marcin has put together 14 genre-spanning tracks that converge into a compelling artistic statement from the Polish-born phenomenon. Today we present the album with the lead single “Classical Dragon,” a perfectly synchronized duet between Marcin and Tim Henson of Polyphia – listen to it here. “I was born in 2000, the Year of the Dragon, and I’m releasing my debut in 2024, another Year of the Dragon, so it felt like a very logical idea,” says Marcin about his first album, and continues: “The dragon is a mythical, untamed, chaotic beast. And then you have this idea of harmony, which is the opposite of that. For the past few years, I’ve been doing a lot of things, but not necessarily fusing them into a whole—everything was in bits and pieces. But now I’m finally making a cohesive rather than fractured artistic statement. The dragon is in harmony.”

Marcin effortlessly combines melody, harmony, and percussive finger drumming in a collection of original compositions and genre-defying covers on Dragon in Harmony, his anticipated debut full-length album for Sony Music Masterworks. Marcin begins with a set of ingeniously named originals like “Guitar Is Dead” and “I Killed It,” making a boldly assertive statement about the state of the guitar and his personal journey as an artist.

“‘Guitar Is Dead’ is kind of a response to guitar purists,” Marcin says about the album’s start, and continues, “It’s me saying, ‘Yeah, you’re right. Guitar is dead. It’s still doing everything that’s been done before.’ My goal has always been to show a wide audience that my playing style is just another way to play the guitar—there’s no barrier to entry.”

It’s a theme that extends to the album’s collaborators, as Marcin features the talents of Tim Henson from Polyphia on “Classical Dragon” and Ichika Nito on “I Don’t Write About Girls” as featured guitarists, making Dragon in Harmony a definitive manifesto for a new generation of guitar heroes. On the other hand, Marcin enlists rockers Portugal. The Man for the hit “When the Light Goes” and indie-pop singer Delaney Bailey for the ballad “Allergies.”

Co-produced with Dan Book (blink-182, Shania Twain, Britney Spears), Dragon in Harmony also includes a series of covers: Justin Timberlake, Sade, and Nirvana share space on the album with Mozart, Debussy, and Miles Davis/Bill Evans, while Book’s studio prowess gives Marcin’s work the hard-hitting impact of chart-topping alt-pop. The resulting 14-track collection is not only a showcase of Marcin’s technical prowess but also his innate ability to translate that virtuosity into an enjoyable, long-lasting artistic statement about his career and the instrument that started it all.
