Seventh studio album by American singer Michael Jackson. Released almost five years after Jackson's previous work, Thriller, and widely anticipated in the popular music market, Bad debuted at number one on the Billboard 200 chart, and sold over two million copies during its first week in the United States. It also reached the top spot in twenty-four other countries, including the United Kingdom, where it sold 500,000 in its first five days and became the country's most commercially successful album in 1987.
