In Spanish Leather, Álvaro delves into the raw, earthy textures of Spanish and Latin American folk, now with a more pronounced focus, with a deliberate tension that unfolds musically, poetically, and stylistically. It is a personal journey of reinvention, where he explores the interaction of the central elements of Spanish musical heritage and blends them with essences of contemporary pop and the raw, lived experiences of an ordinary young man. The result is a new narrative of modern folklore.

The album brings together a diverse group of producers, from Carter Lang (SZA and Doja Cat) to pablopablo (C Tangana) or Raül Refree (Rosalía). The project also features Jasper Harris (Jack Harlow, Lil Nas X, Camila Cabello); Brad Oberhofer (Netflix's The Andy Warhol Diaries); and Rodaidh McDonald (The xx, Adele, and Sampha). Emerging voices such as the Barcelona duo Ciutat, Tristán, and Teo Planell complete a team that reflects the album's spirit: with deep roots and a creative vision projected towards what's to come.
