A folk provocateur and all-round artist, Rodrigo Cuevas (Oviedo, 1985) has
an academic musical background: an intermediate piano degree, tuba studies at the
Conservatory of Oviedo, and three courses in Sonology in Barcelona.
Rodrigo Cuevas enjoys exploring traditional songs with other genres, making
electronic music converse with humor, sensuality, or social criticism,
turning his shows into a unique cultural and sensory experience.
In recent years, his figure has garnered recognition from the media,
the profession as a whole, the administration, and universities.
Among the awards he has received, we highlight the Pluma Award granted by FELGTBI,
the La Barraca Award by UIMP, both in 2025, in addition to being
a finalist in 2025 in 2 categories at the Music Awards and in four others in
2024, and having won the National Award for Contemporary Music in 2023, the
Rainbow Award 2022 from the Ministry of Equality, the RNE Critical Eye Award
2021 for Modern Music, the MIN Award 2020 for "Revelation Artist" and "Best
Fusion and World Music Album," and the Premiu Camaretá for the best song in
Asturian for his composition Rambalín.
