Official statement issued by Get In.
It has been 30 years since La Oreja de Van Gogh first took to the stage. Three decades of songs, memories, and shared stories.
"Going back to the rehearsal room, turning on the microphone, and feeling the magic of our songs alive made me infinitely happy," says an emotional Amaia.
Dreaming of reuniting with their audience, the band has spent the last few months revisiting their hits and writing new stories that will soon be added to a repertoire that has been the soundtrack of so many lives.
Pablo Benegas, while remaining a member of the group, will temporarily step back to spend more time with his family and explore new professional challenges.
A much-anticipated reunion and a musical journey through the career of one of the most internationally acclaimed groups.
In the words of La Oreja de Van Gogh:
To be back together in the rehearsal room and feel that everything is still here, that time was waiting for us where we left it.
To play together again, close our eyes to listen better and not be able to suppress a smile: is this really happening?
The emotion we feel today in front of you cannot be explained in words. It has been a year in San Sebastián, our hideaway in the world, writing new stories and remembering all the previous ones.
Soon we will tell you more details, but we needed to raise our hand and tell you that yes, we are here, and the horizon is full of magical nights like those where your passion and our songs united in an unforgettable spell.
Our dear Pablo remains a part of the group, although this time he will not be on stage with us. After thirty years on the road, he has decided to take a break and enjoy his family and new projects. We wish him all the best.
From our friendship and passion for music, La Oreja de Van Gogh was born, and with both renewed, we begin a new chapter.
Álvaro, Haritz, Xabi, and Amaia
