Tate McRae today releases her new single ‘Sports car’ along with the official music video. The track is written and produced with hitmakers Ryan Tedder, Grant Boutin, and Julia Michaels. The provocative video, directed by Bardia Zeinali, depicts a society that is constantly observing and judging. In it, Tate becomes the observer and regains control. Through her perspective, we immerse ourselves in a powerful interplay of style and identity, where fashion becomes more than just clothes: it is the canvas of her evolving identity. Each look tells a story, reflecting a different personality she embodies.

Sports Car’ is the latest preview before the arrival of her anticipated third album So Close To What, due out on February 21st. Through unfiltered lyricism and raw emotions, So Close To What represents the journey of growing up when the road ahead seems infinite and the destination increasingly elusive. It is an introspective exploration of self-discovery, love, and the search for balance in uncertain times. You can pre-order So Close To What here.

Tate McRae has accumulated over 11.6 billion career streams and has received numerous awards and nominations, including MTV VMAs. US chart, and the Spotify Global chart.

Tate’s new song follows her two latest tracks: ‘2 hands’ and the irresistible ‘It’s ok I’m ok’, which marked her biggest debut on the Billboard Hot 100 chart and has already accumulated over 165 million global streams to date. Her versatility as an artist has captivated audiences worldwide.
