Sony Music Group joined the LGTBIQ+ Pride celebration this Thursday with special programming from 5020 Studio Madrid, the most popular studios in our country, inaugurated this year to promote creation and collaboration among artists. One of the latest artists to join the company, Alice Wonder, was featured with a showcase from the rooftop of the new facilities, at an event this year focused on women, the L of the collective.
The day, named Pride Starts with L, began with a live recording from the studios' Live Room of the podcast 'Nos tienen contentas', in which Roenlared and Paula Vázquez, a colleague from Sony Publishing, developed a special program about the collective in the music industry. In the talk, they discussed topics about sexuality, current events, and various anecdotes with their guests: Alice Wonder and DJ Fernanda Arrau, who also participated in the rooftop party at 5020.
Alice Wonder captivated attendees with an unforgettable performance full of emotion and dance. The Madrid artist has established herself as one of the top references for generational change in Spanish music and is at the forefront of a new emerging scene with a large young audience free of prejudices. Although she was not the only artist to share her talent on such a significant night, the Chilean Fernanda Arrau also delighted the public with a perfect DJ set for dancing a while as attendees enjoyed snacks and drinks to celebrate this special day together.
EQUALITY, DIVERSITY, AND INCLUSION
The president of Sony Music Iberia, José María Barbat, on such a significant night, wanted to emphasize the importance of events like this, and of celebrating freedom and equality in their fullest expression. ''We are proud to have values that identify us, and that aim to impact everything around us, our artists, our collaborators, our people, the entire industry, and also society.
One of those values is precisely what we celebrate today: RESPONSIBILITY AND INCLUSION, a value that Sony has in its DNA, and which entails behaviors that we have internalized in a natural, convinced, and organic way.
But we must continue working, and from our industry, where we can reach society through many channels, the main one being the voice of our artists, we must continue fighting for EQUALITY and real DIVERSITY and INCLUSION. This is and will continue to be part of the organizational strategy,'' he declared.
ABOUT THE CORPORATION'S CULTURE COMMITTEE
The Culture Committee, which promotes important events like the one held last night, is made up of Sony Music, Sony Music Publishing, and The Orchard, united and committed to teams whose purpose is to address important issues and also enrich the experience of all employees by promoting activities and events that reflect diversity and enrich corporate culture. The key pillars are: RESPONSIBILITY, EQUALITY, DIVERSITY, ENVIRONMENT, WELL-BEING, AND LEADERSHIP.
He added: 'The CULTURE we are forging reflects that the work philosophy takes root and goes a step further in the teams. Hence, for the second year, we have been recognized, at Sony Music and The Orchard, as a GREAT PLACE TO WORK. We are part of that group of companies that truly believe that working in a certain way matters, that caring for people matters, that continuing to improve everything that doesn't work perfectly matters, and that is what this seal represents, a COMMITMENT TO IMPROVEMENT and to work environments, among which, in a very relevant way, is the aspect we celebrate today, DIVERSITY AND INCLUSION,' he concluded.
