As a gift to Liliana Herrero. This is how TODA LA VIDA, UN DÍA was born, Silvia Pérez Cruz's new song, which marks the beginning of her new work, titled in the same way. It is the prelude to an album with cyclical connotations, which tries to organize an entire life through different stages that function as different ages.
This song emerged on the eve of the first meeting between Sílvia and Liliana in Uruguay. “Since I didn't know her, it occurred to me to make her a song that I finally didn't teach her until after our meeting. It is a song dedicated to her, a spectacular, powerful, deep, committed woman; "a human being of those who change your life."
The chorus would come out later, and would end up giving the album its name. The guitar arrangement was created especially for Pedro Rossi, a guitarist who always accompanies the Argentine. Later, he added a choir created for the occasion, made up of great singers and friends, recorded in the chapel of the Mutte Cultural Association, in Pontós. A baroque cello was the last touch of the song, which has a video recorded in Iceland — “in a beautiful landscape, but at the same time overwhelming” —, which reflects the relationship with loneliness that All Life, One Day talks about .
Edited and produced by Sílvia, recorded in several cities around the world (Buenos Aires, Havana, Coatepec, Barcelona, Madrid), the new album, which will be released this spring, features great flamenco musicians such as Pepe Habichuela, Carmen Linares, Diego Carrasco and Carles Benavent, as well as other great figures such as Natalia Lafourcade or Salvador Sobral.
Protagonist of risky and eclectic projects for more than a decade, the Catalan received the 2022 National Prize for Current Music last October, awarded by the Ministry of Culture in recognition of “her unwavering commitment to beauty” and “creative quality and interpretation of his career.”
She is the holder of other awards such as the Pop Eye al Duende 2022 and the Pávez Prize for the best Soundtrack (2022). Other awards to his credit are the Max for Best Original Music for Grito Pelao (2019) or the Goya for Best Original Song for Ai, ai, ai, from the film Cerca de tu casa (2016), in which he also participates as actress. Her performance was recognized with a Goya nomination for Best New Actress.
