ROZALÉN PAYS TRIBUTE TO CHAVELA VARGAS WITH HER NEW MUSICAL PROJECT
ROZALÉN RINDE HOMENAJE A CHAVELA VARGAS CON SU NUEVO PROYECTO MUSICAL

Rozalén pays tribute to the great Chavela Vargas with the release of her new EP “Rozalén por Chavela”. This very special project, linked to her participation in the play “Chavela,” is released on February 26th and includes six versions of the iconic songs by the Costa Rican-born Mexican singer.

The first single from this new EP was the famous song "Paloma Negra", which has been available since January 31st on all platforms, coinciding with the premiere of the play written and directed by Carolina Román, in which Rozalén is the lead. This project is a tribute to the life and legacy of Chavela Vargas, an artist who transcended borders with her unique voice and indomitable spirit.

Rozalén has carefully selected the songs for this EP, reinterpreting them with her unmistakable style. In addition to "Paloma Negra," the "Rozalén por Chavela" repertoire includes other classics such as "La Llorona," "Macorina," and "Luz de Luna," with the latter being the EP's focus track. This release not only celebrates Chavela's music but also seeks to keep her memory and influence on contemporary music alive.

In addition to the release of "Rozalén por Chavela," and after the play's premiere at the Teatro Calderón in Valladolid, Chavela traveled to Zaragoza, Málaga, and now arrives in Madrid, where it will remain until May 4th, with Rozalén alternating the role with Nita from Fuel Fandango. Afterwards, the tour will continue in Gijón, Albacete, Pamplona, and Valencia.

The Chavela tribute performances will coincide with the second part of the El Abrazo tour, with performances that resumed on February 14th in Roquetas de Mar and will culminate in October in La Manga del Mar Menor (Cartagena), at the Hermosa Fest.
