Peter Garrett publica su nuevo álbum: The True North El vocalista de Midnight Oil lanza su nuevo proyecto en solitario el 15 marzo en SMFSTORE
Peter Garrett, lead singer of Midnight Oil, will release his new solo album, The True North, on March 15. The album was recorded with his band The Alter Egos, which includes Midnight Oil's Martin Rotsey on guitar. It is a deeply personal reflection on his unique journey, inspired by and infused with the colors of Australia's natural environment and the sights and sounds of modern Oz. The True North will be released on CD, vinyl, and digital formats and is available for pre-order now.

"Permaglow" is the advance single, a scathing rallying cry against television viewers who
"burn out in paradise." "George Orwell was right; we just had to wait a little longer," Garrett proclaims. Peter says, "When you walk at night, you often see a single flickering light in apartment blocks and houses. People watching a screen alone, perhaps lonely, and it was this scene that I tried to tune into with 'Permaglow.' There is a huge contradiction between the cult of the successful individual celebrated by the media and the reality many people face. Community should always prevail over Marvel heroes."

Peter Garrett is one of Australia's most prominent living figures. A renowned activist, former politician, and lead singer of Midnight Oil, he has long campaigned on various issues such as improving life opportunities for Indigenous Australians, ending the climate crisis, and the AUKUS agreement. He served two terms as president of the Australian Conservation Foundation, during which significant expansions of protected natural areas occurred. As Minister for the Environment, he successfully pursued a landmark case against Japanese whaling. As Minister for School Education, he introduced the national curriculum and legislated a new needs-based funding system for all Australian schools. He is the only Australian politician to receive the "Leaders for a Living Planet" award from the World Wide Fund for Nature and is a member of the Order of Australia for his contributions to the music industry and the environment.
