Joaquín Sabina presents us with "Feeling it a lot" with Leiva
Joaquín Sabina nos presenta "Sintiéndolo mucho" junto a Leiva

If the heart does not rhyme with reality... I burn my ships, feeling very sorry . Joaquín Sabina leaves the recording studio with an unreleased song, “Felt it a lot” , a complicit confession of his current vital and emotional state, a subtle mid-tempo that scratches with bare-chested lyrics, where the myth of the popular song once again shows the recognized and recognizable poetic mastery that houses his creations.

Written together with Leiva, a faithful companion of her recent musical adventures, Sabina shows herself as the old sea wolf of emotions sublimated in the form of a song, and endorses the maritime tradition that says that the captain will be the last person to abandon the ship before the shipwreck. “Sentiendolo mucho” therefore functions as a port and tavern song: a bit of a siren, in its deceptive seduction; the same as a swan, in that beautiful mutiny against the passage of time and in the undisguised and mournful flavor of farewell that the song exudes.

“Feeling it a lot” was created ad hoc to close the film of the same title directed by Fernando León de Aranoa, a documentary about Sabina filmed over 13 years in what amounts to a “portrait without a bowler hat, taken just a few centimeters from her skin.” , which tells without mitigating the intimacy of the artist, his backstage, when he comes off the stage.” It is precisely the images from the documentary that make up the video for the song, which is directed by León de Aranoa himself.

The film “Feeling it a lot” , which has already premiered in Spain at the San Sebastián International Film Festival and will be seen in a few days at the IN-EDIT festival in Barcelona, will also have its appointment in Mexico at the prestigious International Film Festival of Cine de Morelia on October 23 with the help of its director and Leiva, also the author of its original music.

The documentary film, a production by Reposado, BTF Media and Sony Music Spain and which has the participation of Movistar Plus+, can be seen in Spanish cinemas starting next November 17, distributed by Avalon with limited screenings.

The song “Sentiendolo mucho” was recorded at the Madrid studio Riff Raff, with Leiva as composer and co-producer along with the always accurate Carlos Raya (Fito Cabrales, Leiva, M-Clan). The basis of the song (drums, acoustic guitar, bass, percussion and choirs) is provided by Leiva and the piano is in charge of the Leiband keyboardist Cesar Pop. Mixed by Raya, “SentLo Mucho” has finally been mastered by the renowned Bob Ludwig (Lou Reed, Paul McCartney, Nirvana, Bruce Springsteen, etc.).
