The Mexican air suits India Martínez like a glove. It is the common thread of Aguachile, the norteña-inspired album that premieres on May 30, which has given us such striking gems as Karma, Equipo favorito and Borrachita perdía. But today, as a final surprise for her fans, comes Caviar, the fourth preview of a work that marks her return after the 2022 release of Nuestro mundo, now with Mexican tradition as inspiration.
PRE-ORDER 'AGUACHILE' HERE
Caviar is another of the songs that fill Aguachile, this time in the mariachi genre, which link Spanish culture with that of the Aztec country, a ballad composed by the Andalusian artist herself where trumpets give way to the voice of a romantic and sentimental India, but also scorned. "I took you for a great man and you're just a kid," she sings in Caviar. The video, directed by Mario Arenas, shows a wonderful India backed by four mariachis.
India Martínez thus transitions from pop and Latin sounds like bachata or reggaeton that guided Nuestro mundo, the album she created with Melendi and Andy Clay – which translated her poetry collection Verdades a medias – to this Aguachile, where she shines with Mexican folklore as a fundamental axis and whose cover she has already revealed on her social networks to announce its release on May 30.

AGUACHILE will be the tenth album in her career, that of a woman both classic and contemporary, an artist who also stands out as a communicator, writer, and actress, and who, despite her age, has already established herself as a veteran of our music.
