'Until I Run Out of Voice', a documentary film produced by Blur and distributed in cinemas by Sideral
Movistar Plus+ presents 'Until I Run Out of Voice', the new Movistar Plus+ original documentary film, which began filming in New York in September 2023. The film is the result of a collective effort between Mario, Lucas, and Sepia.
Leiva, an essential figure in Spanish music, is one of our most beloved and successful active artists: a multi-instrumentalist, composer, and producer, he has signed over 250 works, including music for film projects, and has released a total of 12 studio albums, with which he has achieved 3 Double Platinum Records, 6 Platinum Records, 2 Gold Records, or the dazzling Sextuple Platinum Record, 2 Quadruple Platinum, and 3 Triple Platinum for Songs, achieved with some of his anthems, among other notable certifications, as well as his 2 Goya Awards for Best Original Song, among other important recognitions and nominations obtained throughout his more than 25-year career.
Synopsis:
With the abysses that this entails, Leiva narrates in the first person a raw and unadorned portrait of the spiral of vital frenzy he is going through, and grants unusual access to his life at the peak of his career. An irreversible problem in a vocal cord constantly challenges the present and future of a Leiva who conceives no other option but to keep going.
Until he runs out of voice.
Key points
- The emotional battle Leiva faces to cope with his voice problem is the core around which 'Until I Run Out of Voice' revolves, a film narrated by Leiva himself in the first person and in which there are no testimonies from anyone. Everything seen, happens.
- Produced by Blur, a production company closely linked to Leiva's career since his first music videos, 'Until I Run Out of Voice' unreservedly shows the artist's challenges on his 2003 world tour as well as the recording of his album 'Gigante' between 2024 and 2025 or the creation of the film's own original song.
- 'Until I Run Out of Voice' narrates Leiva's life journey from the peak of his career to one of the most vulnerable moments of his life: managing his voice problem amidst a whirlwind of success and crucial decisions, including undergoing surgery.
- This documentary film is an intimate and raw journey in which we will learn about the cornerstones of his life: an accident that marked his adolescence, his beginnings, his neighborhood, his friends and family, his start with Pereza, the band's breakup, and his reunion with Rubén Pozo. It will also show the close family and professional relationship with his intimate friend Joaquín Sabina, among others.
- We will witness the contradictions that accompany the artist: the addiction to constant frenzy and the need to retreat for long periods to his mountain home to disappear from the public eye and reestablish things that break when you are under everyone's gaze.
- The film will premiere on October 24 in cinemas, distributed by Sideral, and will subsequently be exclusively available on Movistar Plus+.
