Foo Fighters have just released "The Teacher", the latest preview of their new album: But Here We Are, which is released on June 2 on white vinyl , vinyl , CD and digital, and is now available for pre-order.
The fourth preview of the album: "The Teacher" , is an epic 10-minute song. The longest song the band has ever recorded, it is a rock epic in the truest sense, and is unlike anything the band has done before, but is instantly identifiable as Foo Fighters . "The Teacher" is accompanied by a video directed by multimedia artist Tony Oursler. Known since the late 1970s for his work, Oursler came to the attention of Foo Fighters for his work with David Bowie.
"The Teacher" complements the scream of life of "Rescued," the bittersweet punk/pop-tinged rock of "Under You" and the serene dream pop of "Show Me How."
Produced by Greg Kurstin and Foo Fighters, But Here We Are is almost equal parts Foo Fighters' eleventh album and the first chapter in the band's new life. Channeling the naivety of Foo Fighters' 1995 debut album, but now with decades of maturity and depth, But Here We Are is the sound of brothers finding refuge in the music that brought them together 28 years ago, a process as therapeutic as it is. It has been the continuation of life.
