“Caught In The Echo” is the third preview of Foo Fighters’ upcoming studio album: Your Favorite Toy, which will be released on April 24 in various vinyl, CD, and digital formats, all available for pre-order now.
“Caught In The Echo” captures the fury and energy of Foo Fighters' live performances, anticipating one of the band's most raw and powerful albums in years. From its initial exhortation: “Do I? Do I? Do I? Do I?” to its final plea: “Who can save us now?”, “Caught In The Echo” foreshadows the raw energy of the new album, with what is possibly the most explosive song opening since "Bridge Burning" from the album Wasting Light. This new single follows the powerful title track, ‘Your Favorite Toy,’ which was praised by The New York Times as "a return to basic garage rock" and by VICE for "Dave Grohl's unleashed energy."
As a fan action, yesterday, running errands in the San Fernando Valley became much more interesting, as 20 handmade CDs of “Caught in the Echo” —each with a hand-drawn illustration by Dave and Harper Grohl— were hidden in various locations throughout the area, from local independent record stores to national supermarket chains, bookstores, and pharmacies, among others.
Recorded at home, the album ‘Your Favorite Toy’ was co-produced by Foo Fighters and Oliver Roman, engineered by Oliver Roman, and mixed by Mark “Spike” Stent. Foo Fighters are Dave Grohl, Nate Mendel, Chris Shiflett, Pat Smear, Rami Jaffee, and Ilan Rubin. This year, they will perform live in our country on July 8, at the Mad Cool festival (Madrid).
