Your Favorite Toy, the first single from Foo Fighters' new studio album, has just been released. The self-titled album will arrive on April 24 in various vinyl, CD, and digital formats, all available for pre-order.
The single “Your Favorite Toy” brings us sharp guitars and keyboard strokes that intertwine over an relentless rhythmic pulse, while Dave Grohl deploys a new sarcastic vocal tone in absolutely infectious choruses. A perfect and representative sample of an album that sounds different from the rest of the band's discography, and yet is instantly and unmistakably Foo Fighters. Dave Grohl commented: “Your Favorite Toy was truly the key that unlocked the tone and energetic direction of the new album. We stumbled upon it after experimenting for over a year with different sounds and dynamics, and the day it took shape I knew we had to follow its lead. It was the spark that ignited the powder keg of songs we ended up recording for this album. It feels new.”
Recorded at home, the album was co-produced by Foo Fighters and Oliver Roman, with engineering by Oliver Roman and mixing by Mark “Spike” Stent. Foo Fighters are Dave Grohl, Nate Mendel, Chris Shiflett, Pat Smear, Rami Jaffee and Ilan Rubin. This year, they will perform live in our country on July 8, at the Mad Cool festival (Madrid).
Try not to choke on the glitter…
