"NOVELA" is a major musical work that Fito began writing in 1988 and culminates in 2024, seeing the light of day on March 28, 2025.
"NOVELA" brings together 25 unreleased songs that tell a magical story with original characters of a rebellious and passionate spirit. The setting is a peculiar town in Santa Fe (Argentina) where a freak circus arrives, revolutionizing the lives of its inhabitants.
"Superextraño" is the second preview of "NOVELA." The first single revealed a key moment of 'NOVELA', namely, 'Cuando el circo llega al pueblo' (When the circus arrives in town). In that line of revelations, 'Superextraño' breaks in when something huge is about to happen: Jimmy and Loka see each other for the first time.
"Superextraño" is track number 12 on the album, and the core of NOVELA. As the story unfolds between moments of darkness and the development of the character gallery (everyone knows something they aren't saying), heightening the uncertainty about the secrets of Jok, Julius, Loka's mother, and the desire, Maldivina and Turbialuz achieve their first objective of having Jimmy and Loka meet. And as this is the moment when love should awaken, with the two witches flying around Loka and Jimmy, other turbulent scenes are approaching, with doubts and distrust.
'Superextraño' sets the stage for the most intense moments of NOVELA.
"Superextraño" is accompanied by an original lyric video designed and produced by Cornáscavia Estudio and produced by Antiestático.
"NOVELA" is a great musical and cinematographic work that, in chaotic, complicated, and discouraging times, takes us to a world of illusions and love. With the excuse of telling how learning to live in a remote town in the province of Santa Fe (Argentina) affected young people – and his own life – Fito Paez created a magical universe that is told in cinematic and album format, through 25 unreleased songs, which narrate an extraordinary story with original characters of a rebellious and passionate spirit. Composed by Fito Paez and produced by Paez himself, Gustavo Borner, and Diego Olivero, and recorded between Abbey Road, London, and Sony Music 5020 Madrid studios, "Novela" is a work of art of infinite dimensions that will leave no one indifferent.

The story
The story begins in a witch university, where two students, Maldivina and Turbialuz - brilliant, though mischievous - must fulfill a mission as a test/punishment, dictated by the rector of the place, the wicked Rectitud Martirius: to find perfect love in Villa Constitución, the small town where all the album's imagery unfolds.
There they meet Loka, the daughter of the owner of a poor itinerant circus. And Jimmy, an orphan boy who has a rock band and lives with his aunt Charo. From now on, the story features a parade of charming marginal characters, who move in parallel to the actions of Turbialuz and Maldivina, as they seek to solidify the bond between Loka and Jimmy.
NOVELA Characters
Fantastic adventures, cabarets, unsettling mobs. Dark and freak neighbors. Characters with anxieties, tragedies, light and shadows, who live their days on the border between a town and a poor circus that defines the antagonism and the staging of daily life and its reaction to supernatural events that constantly occur, among them, the appearance of love.

After celebrating 30 years of "El amor después del amor" and, later, three and four decades of "Circo Beat" and "Del 63" with memorable dates at the Estadio José Amalfitani (Vélez Sarsfield), UNO (Estudiantes de La Plata) and an endless series of shows at Movistar Arena in Buenos Aires, among others, Fito is going for more. Remembering the past, celebrating the present, and showing that much more is yet to come.

"Best Latin Rock or Alternative Album" (his second nomination after "Abre" in 2000).
Among his most recent albums, the multi-award-winning "La conquista del espacio" and the trilogy "Los años salvajes" stand out, an immense work composed of three episodes that show different facets of Paez's musical art: the album of new songs with his band that gives it its title, "Futurología Arlt," an orchestral album inspired by the literature of the great Argentine writer Roberto Arlt, and "The Golden Light," in which, solely with his piano, he performs original compositions in an intimate context.
The Latin Recording Academy awarded him a Lifetime Achievement Award in 2021, recognizing the exceptional artistic importance of his creative contributions in the field of recorded music throughout his career.
Among multiple nominations, he has won 11 Latin GRAMMY Awards®, in addition to countless awards and distinctions received throughout his career across the continent.
Since September 2022, the "El Amor 30 Años Después Del Amor" Tour has marked a milestone in Argentina, with 8 sold-out shows at the Movistar Arena Buenos Aires that year and more than 70,000 people selling out tickets during two historic nights at the Estadio de Vélez Sarsfield in early April 2023. The tour celebrating one of the most transcendental works of his career continued touring the interior of his country, and adding international destinations in cities in the United States, Spain, Brazil, Colombia, Chile, Uruguay, Paraguay and Venezuela.
He is also a screenwriter and director of two films: "Vidas Privadas" and "De Quién Es El Portaligas". In addition, he is the author of 4 books published throughout America: "La Puta Diabla", "Diario De Viaje", "Los Días De Kirchner" and "Infancia y Juventud".
Netflix presented the series "El amor después del amor", a fiction based on the life of Fito Paez. Being one of the most outstanding releases in the entire region, it has topped the ranking of the most watched content on the platform, with great repercussions in the media and generating trends on social networks.
The recording of the new version of the classic album of the same title began in August 2022 in Los Angeles, with Paez accompanied in production by Gustavo Borner and Diego Olivero. "The idea was to transform it, to revisit it and make new things," declared the artist from Rosario, who recorded original new versions for this unforgettable repertoire, with a truly contemporary perspective. Accompanied by great musicians, it features luxury guests from various latitudes and generations.
Titled EADDA9223, the acronym that gives it its name is formed by the initials of the original album, El Amor Después Del Amor (Love After Love), adding the last two digits of its release year, 1992, and the current release year, 2023.
After performing in March at the Vive Latino Mexico festival, 2024 found him based in Madrid, developing Novela, his upcoming studio album which will also have its own film. From Spain, he traveled to the emblematic Abbey Road studio in London, where he began recording the album, with Gustavo Borner and Diego Olivero producing. There were five marvelous days, featuring the musical commitment and sessions of Ian Thomas on drums (who has worked with Eric Clapton and Mick Jagger, among others), Adam Goldsmith on guitars (Gloria Estefan, Seal, Robbie Williams), and violinist Everton Nelson (Ryuichi Sakamoto). The circuit continued at the 5020 studios in Madrid, where recording was finalized in July, after six months of hard work.
In parallel, he was conceptualizing and working on the live presentation of the anniversary of two of his most outstanding albums: "Del 63" and "Circo Beat." Finally, under the name "Páez 4030," these two emblematic albums of his career were celebrated, commemorating 40 years since the release of his first album "Del 63" and 30 years of the iconic "Circo Beat."
Thus, while working on new material, Fito Paez revisited his history with a current perspective on these two works that have marked generations and become anthems of Spanish rock. November was the month that kicked off this exclusive encounter with these albums, with a series of shows at the Movistar Arena in Buenos Aires, and also Rosario, Córdoba, Santiago de Chile, and Montevideo (Uruguay), which enjoyed these unique moments.
He starts 2025 by resuming the El amor después del amor tour with pending concerts from 2024 in his beloved Mexico: two shows at the Auditorio Nacional in Mexico City, one in Guadalajara, and the anticipated massive event in Zócalo, which will gather both city residents and those from the Mexico Valley.
While we await a preview of the new album at the end of January, the presentation of Novela, estimated for March, is eagerly anticipated, which will undoubtedly be an unprecedented work of art that will transport us on an exciting journey into the creative talent of Fito Paez.
