Sunset Boulevard, the definitive collection showcasing Elvis Presley’s recording sessions and rehearsals at RCA’s historic Sunset Boulevard studio, will be released on August 1st in deluxe 5-CD, double vinyl, and digital formats. Spanning from 1970 to 1975, it features Elvis recording for the first time with his legendary touring band, leading to the hits “Burning Love,” “Always On My Mind” (1972), and “T-R-O-U-B-L-E” (1975) from the album Today.
The deluxe 5-CD edition contains 89 rarities and new mixes. The first two discs feature never-before-heard, no-overdub mixes, offering an intimate look at how Elvis's voice interacts with material from the era's greatest songwriters. The last 3 discs provide a behind-the-scenes look at Elvis’s historic Las Vegas residency, with rehearsals in Los Angeles between 1970 and 1974 with his iconic TCB Band. In addition, a double vinyl edition will be released with a selection of the main tracks.
The editions include never-before-seen archival photographs and new liner notes by music historian Colin Escott, plus an introduction by his long-time friend Jerry Schilling.
