Depeche Mode publican su nuevo álbum
'Memento Mori' disponible mañana 24 de marzo EN SMFSTORE

The most important electronic music band of all time, Depeche Mode , releases tomorrow its long-awaited new album ' Memento Mori ' in four spectacular editions on double vinyl of 180gr red, translucent red, black and transparent, all of them with inscription indented on the D-side and poster included, as well as on CD, Deluxe CD with 24-page booklet, translucent red cassette and digital.

The album has been preceded by the single ' Ghosts again ' with a sound that sounds classic and 100% Depeche Mode, 'Ghosts again' is one of those songs that transports us to the best era of the band, but with the textures and the forceful sound of their contemporary productions. In the words of Dave Gahan - For me, 'Ghosts Again' captures the perfect balance between melancholy and joy (...) , to which Martin Gore adds that - It's not often that we record a song and I don't get tired of listening to it a few days later... but 'Ghost again' has me hooked. Now I am extremely excited to be able to share it (...) . And later with " My Cosmos Is Mine ", a darker track for fans and which Martin Gore himself claims was the last one they wrote and composed on the album.

With no less than 120 million copies sold throughout their career, Depeche Mode have experienced multiple vital stages and have always managed to remain impassive, at the top of the world music scene. Since the eighties, the nineties, the two thousand and of course now, the band has proven to be immune to the vagaries of the market, thanks precisely to its enormous sensitivity and cultural permeability. Now, as it could not be otherwise, 'Memento mori' crystallizes a new vital moment in the career of the British, since in this fifteenth album we find for the first time the combo in a two-member formation, after the death of their good friend and co-founder Andrew Fletcher last year 2022. Produced by James Ford (Gorillaz, Florence and The Machine, Artic Monkeys) and Marta Salogni (Björk, MIA, Animal Collective), the album's gestation took place during the early stages of the Covid pandemic, which inevitably led to the band to work inspired by it, its influence being evident on the album. From its ominous opening to the final resolution, the twelve new songs on 'Memento Mori' draw a line that runs through multiple moods, from paranoia through obsession, to catharsis and joy. This year 2023 we will be lucky enough to be able to enjoy 'Memento mori' live, it will be on June 2 and 9 at Primavera Sound in Barcelona and Madrid , respectively
