After four years without releasing an album with unreleased material, Dani Martín returns with “El último día de nuestras vidas” (The Last Day of Our Lives), his new collection of songs.
“El último día de nuestras vidas” features ten new songs, including the title track which has already been released, and does not include any duets. Dani's new compositions were produced by Paco Salazar and recorded at Puercoespín Estudios (Madrid).
In Dani's own words:
I take what's inside me and pour it onto paper. A lyric comes out, a melody, it moves me because it speaks my truth: it becomes a song.
Well, it seems that's called music, and that's why I'm a musician.
I have so much respect for this vehicle that connects with other people's lives, for the task, for the care of everything I do, that it pains me when I feel it's lacking. I know what it costs to do things with love. I know the effort it takes to buy an album, a ticket. I'm tired of the obvious, of seeing how people go for the result and not what the heart asks for. I'm tired of trends, of what's expected.
That's why this album was born, that's why my cry of revolution, of 'enough already'. Why follow a canon? Why do what the industry, people, radio, platforms ask for? Why not do what comes from your gut? That's what I've done: ten songs that summarize many things that stir my insides and my brain.
“El último día de nuestras vidas” is also, like all of Dani's albums, an act of love for the physical format. All editions of the album, designed by artist Bego Martín, are special and meticulously crafted with luxury packaging and detailed booklets containing all the song information. In addition to the CD and vinyl editions (the latter available in two colors), this new album features a deluxe edition that emulates touring flight cases and includes a vinyl that will not be available in any of the other formats with the album cover printed, the album in cassette format, all songs on seven-inch double-sided vinyl, as well as the CD and booklet.
