Bruce Springsteen is releasing seven new, entirely unreleased albums. Tracks II: The Lost Albums will be launched on June 27th in a spectacular limited-edition box set with 9 vinyl records or 7 CDs, already available for pre-order. Additionally, Lost and Found: Selections From The Lost Albums, a selection of 20 tracks on double vinyl or CD, will also be released.
The Lost Albums completes chapters of Springsteen’s extensive career recorded between 1983-2018. With a total of 83 songs, the box set includes a soundtrack for a film that was never made on the album ‘Faithless’, country combos with pedal steel on ‘Somewhere North of Nashville’, richly woven border stories in ‘Inyo’, the mid-century noir orchestra sound of ‘Twilight Hours’, lo-fi explorations from the era between the mythical albums "Nebraska" and "Born in the U.S.A." on ‘LA Garage Sessions '83’, and all the material that had not seen the light until now from ‘Streets of Philadelphia Sessions’.
Each album will have its own design, with a 100-page cloth-bound booklet, archival photos, and will include notes on each album by essayist Erik Flannigan and an introduction by Springsteen himself. In his own words: «The Lost Albums were complete records, some of them even to the point of being mixed and unreleased. I've played this music for myself and often for close friends for years.» Along with the announcement of The Lost Albums, today also comes the first preview: «Rain In The River», which belongs to the album ‘Perfect World’.
