Bob Dylan presents Bootleg Series Volume 18: Through The Open Window, 1956-1963, a new edition of his acclaimed bootleg series. This time it tells the story of Dylan's emergence and maturation as a songwriter and performer, from Minnesota to the bohemia of Greenwich Village in early 1960. It will be released on October 31st in an 8 CD deluxe box set format and reduced editions with highlights on 4 vinyl or 2 CD.

The 8-CD deluxe box set contains 139 tracks, including previously unreleased performances such as recordings made in clubs or informal gatherings, and the complete recording of Dylan's historic performance at Carnegie Hall on October 26, 1963, mixed from the original tapes. It also contains home recording cuts and studio outtakes. In addition, it comes with a hardcover book with extensive notes by Sean Wilentz and more than 100 photographs. Reduced editions with a selection of 42 tracks in 2 CD or 4 vinyl format will also be available.

A unique account of Dylan's early years, when he honed his talent and transformed traditional folk songs and lyrical sketches into some of his greatest and most enduring songs, including "Blowin' in the Wind" and "The Times They Are A-Changin'". Many of the recordings are rarities; others have never been released in any format.
