Reframe the concept of solitude to make it a warmer word. This is the central idea behind Belén Aguilera's latest work, another preview of her fourth album, Anela, which will be released on September 12. In Soledad, the Catalan artist pays tribute to her grandmother, delivering a piece of elegant pop with the delicate combination of organic traces and electronic elements that characterizes her songs.
“Loneliness is ambiguous. It's neither good nor bad, but it has more negative connotations. Soledad was also my grandmother. With this song, I choose to reframe the word associated with a feeling of isolation to make it warmer, to turn it into companionship rather than abandonment. Soledad is presence, mine, hers. It's not emptiness,” explains the artist. “It's a song that wraps around you when you feel alone, from a place of calm, from infinity. Así decido tenerla siempre presente cuando me siento lejos, para sentirme un poco más cerca”.
Anela will be the fourth album by the singer and songwriter from Barcelona, an intricate web of feelings and emotions that transcends the barrier of music to create an alternative world, the ideal place to take refuge from reality. Belén Aguilera draws inspiration from mythology and the dreamlike, from baroque elements and surrealist nods, perfectly represented by the swing she sways on in an empty theater in the video that accompanies Soledad.
The new track follows Laberinto, Eclipse / Salvamento and Dama en apuros, the previous singles from Anela. All together, they complete the portrait of an empowered artist who reinvents herself, a woman who has encountered the world she idealized as a child to recover a more mystical, lyrical, and theatrical Belén.
From her roots as a singer-songwriter, Belén Aguilera has evolved into a true pop diva, who playfully uses melodies in an album where she was responsible for the composition and arrangements of all the songs. In addition to working with Puche, Naisgai, Nusar3000, Lionel Castra among others for production, which, for the first time, she has done with Sony Music and Seitack.
