Legendary King Crimson alumni Adrian Belew and Tony Levin joined guitar virtuoso Steve Vai and explosive Tool drummer Danny Carey to create BEAT. The new supergroup creatively re-interprets three iconic King Crimson 80’s albums: Discipline, Beat and Three Of A Perfect Pair.
In 2024, the group played 65 shows across North America. Today, they announce the release of Live, the live album documenting the Los Angeles concert from that tour. It will be released on September 26th in various formats, such as the 2-CD and Blu-ray edition, which includes the full Los Angeles concert in 5.1 Surround Sound and Stereo, as well as bonus interviews with the band.
Adrian Belew: "You step on stage with three virtuoso players, world class pros who have seen it all, yet are still having a blast playing this timeless music unlike anything done before or since, and the audience knows every word and is so excited by the performance that the energy and love coming back at you is overwhelming. What could be better?”
Steve Vai: "Touring with BEAT has proven to be way more than I could have expected. Performing this music with Adrian, Tony and Danny has been one of my favorite touring experiences and we are now at the top of our game and captured the magic on BEAT LIVE."
Tony Levin: "The band is rocking. Glad we got high quality recordings of what we do live - innovation meets classic material."
Danny Carey: "I look forward to every show I get to do with Tony, Adrian and Steve with excitement and awe. To play with musicians of this caliber is a dream come true. These songs are fun and challenging and the promise of inspiration, execution and surprise has never let me down. I’m looking forward to doing more."
