Sony Classical releases Poems Without Words, Albert Guinovart's sixth album for Sony Classical and second monograph of solo piano works performed by the composer himself.
Poems Without Words, was born in a period of time in which our lives were driven by fear and sadness, moments in which Guinovart wanted to give us rays of hope and confidence in a better future, publishing each of those days, a piece on their social networks so that we felt accompanied. These pieces, which are collected in twenty-four preludes, consoled us, gave us strength and reminded us that beauty was more necessary than ever in those difficult moments.
Poems Without Words also collects new works that add to his magnificent Nocturnes, Portraits, Novelettes from his work published on Sony Classical Nocturn and in world-first recordings, he releases his compositions on poems by Emily Dickinson.
As Juan Ángel Vela del Campo tells us in the CD notes about this new work by Albert Guinovart, “… the composer's five piano poems, based on texts by Emily Dickinson, are the jewel in the crown of this new installment of Guinovart. Two great sensibilities from different historical periods come together in a poetic-musical dialogue that is as suggestive as it is emotional. Guinovart, on this occasion, crosses borders not only musical but also literary and poetic. “Five pieces, five, about three minutes long, with music for eternity.”
Poems without Words is completed with five new nocturnes to Eulàlia , Poema d'amor , to Adelaisa, “Amor prohibit” and Nocturn to Maria and as a novelty in the author's catalogue, three lullabies by Elisa, by Daniele and by Clara.
Poems without Words will be presented on June 22nd in one of the most prestigious and emblematic venues in the world, Carnegie Hall in New York.

ALBERT GUINOVART, COMPOSER:
The composer and pianist Albert Guinovart is an exceptional heir to the extraordinary cultural renaissance that emerged with enormous force in Catalonia at the beginning of the 20th century and that resulted in the birth of new aesthetic foundations, always with a look at the great European culture without renounce popular sources and inherited tradition.
His admired and prolific work includes the composition of two operas, a ballet, a numerous catalog of symphonic works and an equally important production of chamber repertoire, with the piano being a constant that accompanies him from the beginning of his career to the present. Precisely , Nocturn a Chloè with more than half a million listens on Spotify clearly reflects the success of his piano repertoire and the admiration that the public feels for his works.
“Albert Guinovart's music makes us forget the recklessness with which we face the unknown. With Albert we found ourselves at home, in beautiful Barcelona, in that portion of Barcelona that we all have inside of us. His music challenges the thunder of the storm by turning it into color and when it is difficult for us to achieve joy, we just have to remember a Guinovart melody to smile again because his music is where all beauty and nobility rests.”
Albert Guinovart's relationship with the creative sound world of his generation led him to compose original music for film, which materialized in hits such as El llarg hivern, or orchestrate the Oscar-winning soundtrack of The Artist.
