The VERSACE Experience (PRELUDE 2 GOLD) LP Purple

Released prior to 1995's "The Gold Experience" — the first album credited to Prince’s famous unpronounceable symbol — "The VERSACE Experience (PRELUDE 2 GOLD)" was a gift to attendees of the designer's collection during Paris Fashion Week.

Produced in a DJ mixtape format, it included rare and remixed versions of future hits such as “Pussy Control,” “Gold,” and “Eye Hate U,” as well as seldom-heard, commercially unreleased selections by The New Power Generation and Prince’s jazz-fusion project Madhouse. The rare promotional cassette became a highly sought-after item, with one copy setting a record as the most expensive cassette ever sold, reaching over $4,000. It was recreated as a limited edition cassette exclusive for Record Store Day in April 2019, becoming one of the most popular releases.
