This live concert, recorded just five days before the US release of Are You Experienced, their debut album, is notable for being one of the last times the band performed for an audience while still relatively unknown. Having conquered the UK and continental Europe over the previous ten months, the vast majority of the over 17,000 attendees at the Los Angeles concert were there to see headliners The Mamas & The Papas and were surprised by Jimi Hendrix's electrifying musicianship and showmanship.

The rest of the world can enjoy this live recording for the first time, of which, surprisingly, not a single second has been released, neither through official channels nor by any other means.
