Spirit is Depeche Mode's fourteenth studio release. The album marks the band's first collaboration with producer James Ford and is the follow-up to the band's successful 2013 studio album, Delta Machine, which debuted at number 1 in 12 countries.

The songs on Spirit reflect profound questions about the modern world and the state of humanity. The first single is classic Depeche Mode, with filtering electronics and a dramatic chorus: "Where's the Revolution"; which adds to "Going Backwards", "The Worst Crime", "Poison Heart", "Scum", "So Much Love", "Fail" and more.
