Plena Pausa, the project in which, commissioned by the Spanish Film Library, J sets music to part of the visual legacy of the San Sebastian filmmaker Iván Zulueta. He was not a cursed artist, but a free creator beyond “Arrebato”, his cult work.
It is no coincidence that J de Los Planetas wanted to give new life to film material rescued by the National Film Archive by acquiring “one of the most powerful personal archives in the cinematographic context of the second half of the 20th century.” The Granada-born musician has immersed himself in the unpublished filmography shot by Zulueta between the 60s and 70s in Super 8 and 16mm, as well as personal documents, drawings and polaroids.

And here are the results, “Plena Pausa” a necessary work because it provides cultural utility beyond the triviality of a pop song. Songs that broaden horizons and help preserve a unique audiovisual work in Spain.
