Fetus were simply a punk-rock group until they discovered the traditional romances of Jaume Arnella. After dedicating a revolutionary tribute to him on the album “Sota, cavall i rei”, they delve into the path indicated by the maestro, now providing their own material.
In the new album “La serra dels perduts”, which is presented at the Fira Mediterrània in Manresa, Fetus explore a new universe where popular stories from the imagination of their native Ampurdán fit, with lost songs from the Gavarres mountain range and beyond. . Characters such as the shoemaker from Ordis or the watchmaker from Creixells appear, alongside historical episodes such as the Rabiosas revolt or Barcelona's Rebombori del Pa. In the musical field, punk-rock and the trademark tavern song mix with traditional Catalan folk. The guitar/bass/drums triad now coexists with the sounds of the diatonic accordion, the bagpipes or the “flabiol”.
In this new adventure, they once again have Joan Colomo as music producer. And they add luxury allies such as Carles Belda (diatonic accordion), Ricard Ros (bagpipes, whistles, bouzouki) or Guillem Caballero (Els Surfing Sirles, Tracksuit Jacket, on keyboards). Branca Studio signs the graphic design. “La serra dels perduts” is the fourth album by Fetus, continuing “L'epicentre del fangar” (2018), “Terra cuita” (2019, TimeOutBCN award for Radical Talent) and “Sota , cavall i king” (2021).
