The iconic 1977 album by Pink Floyd has been remixed by James Guthrie. Animals is a concept album, focusing on the socio-political conditions of mid-1970s Britain, and marked a departure from the band's earlier style. The album evolved from a collection of unrelated songs into a concept that describes the apparent social and moral decay of society, comparing the human condition to that of animals. Taking inspiration from George Orwell's "Animal Farm," the album depicts different classes of people as animals, with pigs at the top of the social ladder, descending to sheep as mindless flocks that follow what they are told, and dogs as the corporate bosses who grow fat on money and the power they hold over others. Although much time has passed since 1977, the album's narrative still resonates today, as our social and economic situation mirrors that of the time.
