SÍLVIA PÉREZ CRUZ RELEASES HER NEW ALBUM, ‘ORAL_ABISAL’
SÍLVIA PÉREZ CRUZ ESTRENA SU NUEVO ÁLBUM, ‘ORAL_ABISAL’

Sílvia Pérez Cruz today, May 8, releases her new album, Oral_Abisal, the tenth work in a career marked by excellence and constant exploration. This release unfolds her most personal universe, built upon a poetic idea as clear as it is profound: the duality that inhabits its very title.

With titles such as the already released Moreno, Líquido, and É triste viver sem seu amor, the album forges a duplicity in which Oral evokes wood and Abisal evokes metal. On one hand, the table, collective singing, the popular, strings, the guitar, and the desire to share; on the other, introspective singing, the dreamlike, the depths of the seas, and celestial dreams.

Oral_Abisal is a work that investigates the two sides of the same texture, a fundamental change of state in the creation of the universe it explores in all its themes. Always with her delicious and unmistakable voice as the common thread, to transport us to that metamorphic idea that permeates her new musical adventure.

This is how the spirit of Sílvia Pérez Cruz's new work functions. Last Tuesday, she celebrated the album's presentation event with a very special immersive gathering, a perfect prelude to what arrives this Friday. However, Oral_Abisal is not without significant previous milestones, such as the Catalan singer and songwriter's performances in iconic venues like the Teatro Real in Madrid, the Liceu in Barcelona, and L'Olympia in Paris.

There are more recent successes preceding the new album. Among them, the recent Goya Award for Best Original Song for Flores para Antonio stands out, which is the third of her career after those achieved in 2013 and 2017. More recently, the Catalan artist was nominated at the Academy of Music Awards in the categories of Best Singer-Songwriter Album (for Sílvia & Salvador, with Salvador Sobral) and Best Song in Catalan/Valencian/Mallorcan (for Ben poca cosa tens, also with Salvador Sobral).

Thus began an exceptional year for Sílvia Pérez Cruz, marked not only by her inexhaustible creative rhythm but also by a tour that will cross the Atlantic with confirmed dates in places like Mexico City, Bogotá, Buenos Aires, and Santiago de Chile. The two sides of the ocean as a reflection of the polarity of this new Oral_Abisal that is now available.
