Fito Páez "When the Circus Comes to Town" the first single from his new album "Novela"
Fito Páez "cuando el circo llega al pueblo" el primer adelanto de su nuevo álbum "Novela" en SMFSTORE
Chaos, love, adventures, laughter and tears, order and disorder are synthesized in "Cuando el circo llega al pueblo" (When the Circus Comes to Town), the song Fito Paez chose to preview his new album "Novela". It is an invitation to begin a journey through an unprecedented musical experience that will be unveiled in March.
"Novela" is a grand musical work with no international pop/rock precedent, which Fito began writing in 1988 and concludes in 2024, seeing the light in 2025. In chaotic, complicated, and disheartening times, this work takes us to a world of illusions and love.
"Novela" gathers 25 unreleased songs that tell a magical story with original characters of rebellious and passionate spirit. The setting is a peculiar town in Santa Fe (Argentina) where a crazy circus arrives, revolutionizing the lives of its inhabitants.
"Cuando el circo llega al pueblo" is the lead single from "Novela". Here, the marvelous story created by Paez begins to take a definitive course. An explosion of music, colors, and emotions, the song is the synthesis of the grand story told throughout the album. The adorable characters of Maldivina, Turbialuz, Charo, Loka, Jimmy, and Jok unleash their own magic with the arrival of the circus.
The Story
"Cuando el circo llega al pueblo" portrays one of the most important moments in Novela's story: the moment Loka and Jimmy meet. He has the power to attract objects, while Loka has the power to repel them; the challenge for the little witches will be for their spells to have the desired effect between the two youngsters. The song speaks of this first encounter of the couple, of the charm the circus brings to the town's life, and, above all, to that of its fascinating inhabitants.
Maldivina and Turbialuz have the task of creating a perfect romance.
The first preview of "Novela," "Cuando el circo llega al pueblo", is accompanied by a music video directed by Álvaro Stocker, Juan Cavia, Walter Cornás, and starring Fito Paez himself as the narrator, Lucas Schejtman as Jimmy, Euge Kolodziej as Loka. Also featured are Coki Debernardi (Jok), Sofi Estévez (Charo), María Julieta (Maldivina), and Vico Miranda (Turbialuz).
"Your love finally came into my life," says the single that opens the door to another marvelous and crazy world in the Paez universe.

Among his most recent albums, the multi-award-winning "La conquista del espacio" and the trilogy "Los años salvajes" stand out, an immense work composed of three episodes that show different facets of Paez's musical art: the album of new songs with his band that gives it its title, "Futurología Arlt", an orchestral album inspired by the literature of the great Argentine writer Roberto Arlt, and "The Golden Light", in which, only with his piano, he performs original compositions in an intimate setting.

The Latin Recording Academy awarded him a Lifetime Achievement Award in 2021, recognizing the exceptional artistic importance of his creative contributions to recorded music throughout his career.

Among multiple nominations, he has won 11 Latin GRAMMY® Awards, in addition to countless awards and distinctions received throughout the continent during his career.

Since September 2022, the "El Amor 30 Años Después Del Amor" Tour has marked a milestone in Argentina, with 8 sold-out shows at the Movistar Arena in Buenos Aires that year and over 70,000 people buying tickets during two historic nights at the Vélez Sarsfield Stadium in early April 2023. The tour celebrating one of the most transcendental works of his career continued touring the interior of his country, and adding international destinations in cities in the United States, Spain, Brazil, Colombia, Chile, Uruguay, Paraguay, and Venezuela.

He is also a screenwriter and director of two films: "Vidas Privadas" and "De Quién Es El Portaligas". In addition, he is the author of 4 books published throughout America: "La Puta Diabla", "Diario De Viaje", "Los Días De Kirchner" and "Infancia y Juventud".

Netflix presented the series "El amor después del amor", a fictional series based on the life of Fito Paez. Being one of the most outstanding premieres in the entire region, it has led the ranking of the most viewed content on the platform, with great repercussions in the media and generating trends on social networks.

The recording of the new version of the classic album of the same title began in August 2022 in Los Angeles, with Paez accompanied in production by Gustavo Borner and Diego Olivero. "The idea was to transform it, to revisit it and do new things with it," declared the Rosario artist, who recorded original new versions for this unforgettable repertoire, with a truly contemporary perspective. Accompanied by great musicians, it features luxury guests from various latitudes and generations.

Titled EADDA9223, the acronym is formed by the initials of the original album, El Amor Después Del Amor, adding the last two digits of its release year, 1992, and the current release year, 2023.

After performing in March at the Vive Latino Mexico festival, 2024 found him settled in Madrid, developing Novela, his next studio material, which will also have a film. From Spain, he traveled to the emblematic Abbey Road studio in London, where he began recording the album, alongside Gustavo Borner and Diego Olivero in production. It was five wonderful days, featuring the musical commitment and sessions of Ian Thomas on drums (who has worked with Eric Clapton and Mick Jagger, among others), Adam Goldsmith on guitars (Gloria Estefan, Seal, Robbie Williams), and violinist Everton Nelson (Ryuichi Sakamoto). The circuit continued at the 5020 studios in Madrid, where recording was finalized in July, after six months of hard work.
In parallel, he was conceptualizing and working on the live presentation of the anniversary of two of his most outstanding albums: "Del 63" and "Circo Beat." Finally, under the name "Páez 4030," these two emblematic albums of his career were celebrated, commemorating 40 years since the release of his first album "Del 63" and 30 years of the iconic "Circo Beat."

Thus, while working on new material, Fito Paez revisited his history with a current perspective on these two works that have marked generations and become anthems of rock in Spanish. November was the month that initiated this exclusive encounter with these albums, with a cascade of shows at the Movistar Arena in Buenos Aires, also Rosario, Córdoba, Santiago de Chile and Montevideo (Uruguay), were able to enjoy these unique moments.

He begins 2025 by resuming the El Amor Después Del Amor tour with pending concerts from 2024 in his beloved Mexico: two shows at the Auditorio Nacional in D.F., one in Guadalajara, and the anticipated massive event in Zócalo, which will gather both city residents and those from the Valley of Mexico.

While we await a preview of the new album at the end of January, the presentation of Novela is eagerly anticipated, estimated for March, which will undoubtedly be an unprecedented work of art, transporting us on an exciting excursion into Fito Paez's creative talent.
